Story: Badri(Allu Arjun) is trained by his guru Bhishma Narayan(Prakash raj) in all the martial arts and is appointed as the protector of the Badrinath temple. Alakananda (Tamanna) who doesn’t believe in god once comes along with his grandfather and after a couple of scenes falls flat for Badri. Sarkar( Kelly Dorjee) is after Alakananda, and want to marry her to his son. What happens after that forms the remaining part?
Performances: Allu Arjun fitted well to the role. He has done good work. Tamanna was okay. She provided the required glamour. Prakash raj is good. Kelly Dorjee, Brahmanandam, Krishna Bhagwan, M.S, Dharmavarapu and other supporting cast have done decent job. Cinematography and the special effects are fantastic. Music by Keeravani is Average. Art work is Good and the editing could have been better. The story line is wafer thin which lacked emotions. Screenplay could have been better. Direction is good in parts.
Analysis: The Director V.V.Vinayak once again paired up with Allu Arjun after 'Bunny' movie, did the magic repeat is a big question mark????? V.V.Vinayak who can churn out minimum guarantee film couldn’t come out with a satisfactory product this time. The Story is very very thin, it’s very simple and the Scenes lacked emotional or entertainment content so the movie failed to stand up to the expectations.
Allu Arjun has done fabulous work, his six-Pack body suited well to the Samurai role. He danced well; he made the ordinary songs also look good on the Screen. Tamanna performed well, she emoted well in the required Scenes. Tamanna scores more marks in glamour show. Prakash raj is good in the guru’s role. The remaining cast fitted the bill.
Cinematography is fantastic and is well supported by the Visual effects. Art work by Anand sai is very good with lavish and rich sets. The movie was made on a grand budget of nearly 40 Crores. The rich grandeur look is evident on the screen. Editing could have been better. Peter Heins composed good fights (even though some fights appeared artificial).Music is Average, even Keeravani’s mark is missing in the background Score also .Choreography was fantastic (especially the last song).Allu Arjun tried hard and has put his best in dances.
The First half is strictly okay, the interval bang is also not up to the mark, the songs in the second half and a couple of fights impress you. The narration is pretty dragging and the climax could have been better. The abrupt ending may even surprise you. The movie falls short in the entertainment also. The comedy track in the second half is a repeat one from the movie “INDRA”. Chinni Krishna has done a haphazard work in his writing. There is absolutely no consistency in characterizations, the comedy tracks appeared detached from the story. There is no emotional /heart touching content that the audience gets connected.
As such, this movie is not for the thinking audience, it is only for those commercial audiences who seek some fights, Dances and sentiment. We have to wait for the response of the masses. The fate of the movie solely depends on how it fares at the B,C centers.
Plus: Performances, Allu Arjun dances, Rich Production values
Minus: Story, Screenplay, Lack of Entertainment
Verdict: JUST BETTER THAT NTR'S SHAKTI...
